What We Do

WVEA is there when you can't be. Our job is to support, protect and defend members' rights. Our organization monitors the laws that affect how you do your job, advocates for more education funding, and works to improve your salaries.  WVEA gives you the time to do what you do best… educating, nurturing and encouraging students to do their best!

Strong local associations are the backbone of WVEA. The locals ensure members' needs are being met at an individual level. Plus, our organization prides itself on its efforts to lobby policymakers to ensure better school funding, and it strives to educate the public on the benefits of electing pro-education candidates. WVEA also offers professional development classes and resources and protects our members’ right to due process.

WVEA's goal is to create the best possible environment for West Virginia educators to give each student the high-quality, world-class public education they deserve.
